Letter from
the Principal
I hope that each of you
had a chance to get away
and do some of the
things that you truly
enjoy during your summer
vacation. Having time
to spend with family,
traveling, reading a
good book, or just doing
nothing at all hopefully
will charge each of your
batteries for the
upcoming school year.
Once again, I’m pleased
to report that Flat Rock
made Adequate Yearly
Progress (AYP) for the
fifth straight year.
This accomplishment is
due to the outstanding
work that our teachers
exhibit daily in
educating our students
and the active role that
our parents play in the
education of their
children.
During the few days that
I took off this summer,
I thought about how
fortunate I have been
for the past five years
to be the principal of
this wonderful
institution. I truly
enjoy the family
atmosphere that is a
part of the culture of
Flat Rock. We are an
organization that
continues to excel
academically,
athletically and in the
fine arts.
In closing, I am
requesting that each
parent continue to play
an active role in the
education of our
students. Please find
the time to assist our
PTO and our several
booster clubs with your
time or financial
contribution. Stay
current with the
assignments of your
child by monitoring our
homework hotline and
mygradebook.com on a
regular basis. The
faculty of Flat Rock
will work jointly
with our parents to
create the best possible
learning environment for
all of our students. I
am personally looking
forward to working with
everyone in our
continued strive for
excellence.
